What is The ALPHA Course?

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that create a safe and honest space, where people can explore life, faith and meaning in their own way, in 2019, CTR was the FIRST Maronite Parish to host an ALPHA Course, now, in 2025, many other Maronite and Catholic parishes across Sydney run The ALPHA Course for 1000's of community members who are all seeking more and exploring life, faith and meaning.

Alpha’s mission is to equip and serve the Church to help people discover and develop a relationship with Jesus.

Over the past 8 years, The ALPHA Course has helped 850,000 Australians explore their Faith.

Monsignor Shora celebrates 30 years as a Monsignor in the Maronite faith in 2025 and has been the Parish Priest at CTR since its establishment in 2015. Monsignor Shora is also the Maronite Charismatic Community Chaplain and has been involved in the establishment and growth of many Maronite Parishes across Sydney and Adelaide.

Father Youssef Abouzeid

Father Youssef Abouziad has been a part of the Hills Maronite Parish for many years and is leading the Sodality and Seniors ministry along with the newly launched Arabic classes at CTR with great success. Father Youssef also introduced the Marion home visits for CTR during the month of Mary with nightly Rosary being celebrated at different community member homes each night during the month.

Subdeacon Stefan Gerges

Subdeacon Stefan Gerges has been an integral member of CTR since its establishment in 2015, serving as an alter server and then, after many years of formation and development, was called to the path of the diaconate and now serves as the Parish Youth Chaplain and much more.

Josephine has been the CTR Parish Secretary since it's establishment in 2015 and has worked alongside Monsignor Shora Maree for many years before coming to Christ the Redeemer. The Parish is run by the efforts and dedication of Josephine.

Honi Lattouf

Honi has been a part of the CTR Parish from its very early days and now is a part of the Parish Leadership and Divine Renovation team helping to move our Parish in a direction to move from maintenance to mission. Honi has spearheaded the introduction of the ALPHA COURSE which is the Parish's primary faith formation facility.

Romeo has been involved in CTR activities very early on the establishment of the Parish, working on multiple committees such as the Parish Fundraising and Gala Committee, The Mens Committee, The Faith Formation Committee and the Comms Team, he is now the Parish Communications, Marketing and Media advisor.
