1 Corinthians 3:10

Our Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, Our Redeemer,

Throughout your saving mission on Earth, and especially in redeeming us from our sins on the Cross, you perfectly embodied the words of St. Paul: “Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving… to God [the Father].” (Phil 4:6)

You placed your worry and pain for us in your great prayer of offering to the Father, crying with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” (Lk 23:46)

On the Cross, you prayed the greatest prayer of supplication and forgiveness for us in your words, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” (Lk 23:34)

You rejoiced and prayed in thanksgiving to the Father in the Holy Spirit, saying, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.” (Lk 10:21)

O Christ, Our Redeemer, We ask in your name that the Father may grant us the Holy Spirit, so that we may not worry about anything. In all our struggles and joys, as we strive to follow and serve you, may we never fall away from reaching out to you in prayer and in trustful supplication for others and ourselves. Help us to be built up as disciples on fire for your kingdom, that it may come more deeply into our hearts, our families, our parish, and the world.

May your Holy Spirit lead us in prayers of thanksgiving and praise, following your example and that of our Blessed Mother, who said,

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” (Lk 1:46)

We raise glory and thanks to you O Christ our Redeemer, to your Father, and to your living Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Mary, Mother of Our Redeemer, pray for us.
